Practice Makes Progress

Continuing to recognise what I do each day
Feelings aren't facts

Monday
L and S joined me in bed for cuddles and rock-a-bye baby: 'Mummy will catch you, make sure you don't fall'
Matt did the school run while I got the girls dressed, put Cinderella on and made myself breakfast
I watched tonight's Emmerdale, mainly with S on my lap requesting 'more'
Quick video call with nana, daddy came home with the food shopping
Spoke to my therapist (last session) and doctor; looked after the girls while Matt did the school run
Did some game quests with E, finalised my competition entry when she went to bed

Tuesday
Looked after the girls in the morning, made breakfast and watched Emmerdale
A bundle of new Tonies and a second box arrived, added these to our household
Work: taught my foundation class on technology and innovation, found out I am covering an English class that I don't even teach on Thursday (saw it on my schedule)
Attended a Women in Leadership meeting with a guest speaker: one of two females of colour in leadership at Avon and Somerset Police
Came home to my parents visiting and news of L's hospital appointment for possible sleep apnea
E watched Matilda with her grandparents, nana put her to bed and we had a quiet evening

Wednesday
My parents are here, so my mum made breakfast and helped with the girls
I carried the girls around on my shoulders and they mostly listened to Tonies
I did aesthetically pleasing gaming activities: created a dress for my character, explored the store and submitted an entry for the design competition
Matt collected his glasses and bought some of the girls' birthday and Christmas presents
We had our own fireworks for Bonfire Night, which the girls really enjoyed (also a new experience for me)
In the evening, I spoke to my Mothers for Mothers support worker and caught up on emails, including an offer of additional teaching hours

Thursday
My mum made breakfast, I helped my dad with his smart watch and L chose the Olaf Tonie
Made a list of presents that will stay and who will give the girls what
Work: covered an English lesson where we read and undertook activities on volcanoes
Matt took and collected me from work, we collected E from school together
Found out I didn't get invited to interview for the internal job, wrote to the hiring manager for feedback
LinkedIn: sent out new connections and engaged with content, actively reached out to two people hiring in coaching and tutoring
L got out of bed and let me comfort her; I suspect E sneaking into her bed had woken her up

Friday
My mum again made breakfast and sorted the girls, I caught up on personal emails
Looked at LinkedIn to find a careers coach had sent a request, we exchanged messages
Work: foundation class continuing science and technology, did my lesson plans again after they were lost - they needed revisions anyway
Had someone lovely help me out by gifting me a rare set on the trading card app I play

Saturday
Had breakfast, Matt and my mum took E to judo while my dad and I looked after the little ones
The girls played, listened to music and Tonies, and I played my game briefly
I decided to tackle the girls' toy storage: relocating games and puzzles to the hall and all books and crafting materials to the living room, which took most of the day
Matt helped when he got back and I feel much happier with the organisation of our home
The girls watched Frozen the Musical and my dad watched Strictly
